Vintage Chinese Foods @ Sek Yuen, Pudu

It happened last month where we were discussing about nice lovely old chinese restaurants in KL where the name "Sek Yuen" popped up...

Tony insisted I've been there... mainly the reason that the restaurant has been there for more than 60 years ago... Do the maths...

The old restaurant is still there at Jalan Pudu itself..

The interior has not changed much for the past 60 years...

Just beside it is the "newer" building of 40 years old, air conditioned.... Quite a few people told me that this was the hottest wedding spot for Chinese couples....

Without wasting much time, when I was there I asked the waitress for the famous dishes...

Egg Omelete with Shark Fins...

...wrapped with vege...

The infamous "Pei Pah" Roast Duck... (must try!)

Chicken with "Kai Lan"...

Thai Style Taufu (Beancurd)...

The star of the night...

8 treasures in Pork Knuckle...

Look at the "8 treasures" hidden within the knuckles...

Basically the foods are pretty good. Most of such dishes are hard to find in more modern Chinese restaurants. Most of these similar restaurants had been folded due to NO inheritance. The whole massacre of foods came to less than RM 200. Service was good. Crowd was mainly older citizens. The thing about this place is more to history of Pudu foods. The place has stood still for more than 60 years and its up to we younger generations to support them. Many might not even know such place still exist!
