Yong Tau Fu @ Restoran Foong Foong, Ampang

Well, few weeks ago I had this crave for Yong Tau Fu so we went to Ampang for it. There's a particular shop that I had been visiting since I was a kid. That makes around more than 20 years of history of this outlet.



My parents loved Restoran Foong Foong when we were staying in Ampang. Personally I haven't been there for at least 2 years.



We waited no more and ordered our foods. Dumplings came first. The filling was big, very mouthful. The filling was a combination of prawn and pork. This was good.



The rest came the platter of yong tau fu(s)! Lady's finger, bitter gould, tau fu, chili and fish ball. Fish balls were notable very "bouncy". I would say the platter will go well with a group of people. Rice will be an option to go with the yong tau fu. I prefer eating it plain with the sweet sauce and the chili sauce.



The fried dumplings and fried foo chuk was my favourite. The dumpling was hot. Every bite can feel the crunchiness of the cripsy skin and the mixed meat fillings. It was good but I would prefer them to mixed with more salted fish (I prefer it to be a bit more salty). Well, of course this is my personal preference. Foo Chook was also hot. Filling was rolled with the foo chook and deep fried. This was good as well.

Beware! This 2 items are very addictive! It will make you keep ordering!

The service was good, ordered in front of the counter, minutes later foods were served on table. Per piece was RM 0.70. Reasonable...

Amazing Ambience @ Mandi Mandi, Tamarind Springs

Me and Rachel was invited for a birthday gathering at Mandi Mandi, Tamarind Springs in Ampang. Since I was born around that area, locating the place was easy to me.

From Flamengo Hotel, turned in to Ampang Jaya. Go straight, passed SPCA (on the left) and passed the golf course(on the left). Go straight until you reached a T junction and turn left. Go up the hill (golf course on your left, bungalow houses on your right) you will reached Tamarind Spring on your left. There's designated parking spaces there.

The moment we stepped into the place, we entered a "different world".



It was like we were lost in the woods. Yet, we were guided by the tiny candles that glowed the pathway.



We went down the slopes and stairs slowly and we found Mandi Mandi. Its a lovely small restaurant.



The interior was amazing and breathtaking.



We were brought to a small hut on top of a little hill where the birthday girl booked a huge table.



The night was full of laughters and fun.

The reason that I didn't post up more pictures because I believed you should go and experience yourself. Better for me not to spoil it here.

For the food, we didn't eat much so I didn't bother to review about it. Actually, that's an excuse for me to go there again. I don't really mind going there again.

The people there were friendly and the food there was good. BOOKED first to avoid disappointment.

A nice place to bring your partner for a romantic experience. (We saw a guy proposed to a girl on that night)

THE BEST Ramli Burger Special @ Ampang

If you stay in KL and you are one big fan of Ramli Burger and you haven't visit this place, don't even ever dare to call yourself a Ramli Burger Fan!

If you are a foodie and you have not heard of OM Burger. I’m ashamed of you guys. OM Burger or Burger Sri Tanjung have been around the same place, same spot for over 10 years in Ampang Jaya right in-front of the 7-11. All you Ramly burger fans, u know what I’m talking about.

I would say this is one sought after burger. Everyone talks about this burger in KL. Popular or commonly known as OM Burger or Burger OM, Sloppy Joe’s or plainly OM. FYI, OM is Uncle in Javanese.- Rizainuddin

I would agreed with him. I've been there more than 10 years ago when the craze of Ramli Burger special started. The uncle would said, just wait until its ready!

His cooking style is sloopy like 10 years ago, just like old time!

You can really see the sloppiness. However, the taste was heavenly. Burger patty was cooked with egg and cheese, packed with vege. I would say his burger is one of the fattest in town. Yet, the tastiest.

This is one of the Ramli Burger stall you must visit if you loved the burger, Ramli Burger style...

Bora Ombak Cafe & Restaurant @ Ampang

Fancy Indonesian food? Few months back, my family decided to try some Indonesian food at this restaurant called Bora Ombak in Ampang. Located somewhere behind Ampang Point, you need to call them for the location.... The setting of the place is magnificent...

The presentation of the food as you can see here is amazing as well as the ambience of the place. However, the service is really slow. There were only 2-3 tables full and they were working really slow. The food is itself is okay.... but small in portion... Well, the price is a bit high... Expect to pay around RM 20-30 per pax if you want the luxurious foods like I ordered. If you are looking for a romantic dinner ala Indo style, this might be a good place.

Well, there are good places and there are always great places to go. When you talk about food, its either the place or the food. For Basil Leaf, its best of both. One thing I missed out will be the location, located somewhere off Jln Tun Abdul Razak, its quite hard to locate however, once you know to get there, the next time will be easy.

The place is excellent with great greenery and very comfy. Food? Great as well! Of course the price is reasonable. Set lunch plus here and there is less than RM 20 for the moment (promotion). Its a lovely couple and family place with garden and greenery. A must place to go!
