Green Tea Rice @ YY Famous Dumplings

* NON - HALAL

Sometimes, its really hard to think when someone asked me to eat. Rachel has been bugging me for a new food place. The thing of going for food for 2 is never easy.

One fine day where I was at Pandan area, I remembered of a dumpling place at Pandan Jaya. Basically I was told about the expensive dumpling they have. Without any directions or such, we tried our luck and we found the shop.... I'm a genius ain't I...

Photobucket
Its more like a tea house to a restaurant to me. They served lots of Hakka foods. Well, we ordered something different. Hakka Yam Abacus... They stir fried... Its quite good...
Photobucket
Golden Chang (dumpling) - Roasted Pork, Roasted Chic, Salted Eggs, Sausages, Dried Oysters, Chestnuts, Mushroom + Rice.... RM 8.50 for this little monster...

Their most expensive dumpling is around RM 238... weighing 2 kg and orders must be made in advance. They called it Multi Flavour Abalone King Bah Cang...

Let me show the process of green tea rice...

First, they give you a pot of green tea...
Photobucket
The rice and the small little things such as peanuts and vege...
Photobucket
Mixed it all together... like "rojak"
Photobucket
Pour the green tea and its ready to "consume"....
Photobucket
I find that green tea rice was not my taste. Well, sometimes food like this is very subjective. It's something that we never taste before so it will gave us the surprise element. To be easy, its not my cup of tea. Food was fairly okay and price we paid was around RM 4x plus the drinks.

Max Brenner Revisited 2008 @ Promenade Singapore

* HALAL

The recent short trip to Singapore did not hamper me of going to Max Brenner again. I tried 2 of their drinks last time around... so this time, I went back for more...

The place didn't much change since I was there last year...

We were very happy indulging our lovely drinks...
Photobucket
Venezuela Milk Choco is definitely for hot choco lovers. Not so dark or sweet, just nice with thick choco taste with hints of caramel, vanilla and hazelnuts.

Coockieshake is a cold drink of blended white choco cream, Oreo coockies, caramelized pecan... This drink is like an ice blended choco dreamland shake. Its really lovely...

Service was pretty good. The girl was pretty helpful explaining the drinks. Price was reasonable as well... S5.90 for the hot one, S8.90 for the cold "dreamland" shake...

I find it hard to stay in Singapore as I would go to this place often. The temptation will be always there.

Another funny thing is I never actually tried any choco cafe in Malaysia yet. I heard there's a few quite "interesting" choco cafe in town. Will go there soon maybe...

"Lou Yee Sang" @ Oriental Maju Palace

I would never wonder to celebrate Boxing Day this year. I was invited to a family gathering at Oriental Maju Palace @ Maju Junction Mall this Boxing Day. I've been there a few times before and this time around I am well prepared with my camera.
Photobucket
The snacks at this place was good. This plate looks like "sotong" (squid) but actually a type of mushroom lightly brown fried. It's very crispy.
Photobucket
Since everyone was so happy, I was told that we gonna "lou sang"... I was like "just must be kidding me..."

This could be the freshest "Yee Sang" I had in my life. In advance almost a month and we are still in 2008, celebrating for 2009 CNY.... Goodness...

The dinner was fantastic! All of the foods were good... Service was fantastic. We got a nice little cozy VIP room with 2 tables and sofas. Per table excluding the liquor, around 1k per table. Room was equipped with KTV. We ended up very late with lots of whisky, brandy and wine. Thanks Uncle Dillon for the lovely dinner.

Pork Chop Noodle @ Petaling Street

* NON - HALAL

There are many foods in Petaling Street that I have yet to go. Even I've been staying in KL for 30 years, I must say my visit to Petaling Street is quite minimal. In a few weeks back, I was brought to this lovely pork chop noodle place at Petaling Street. Due to its location, I'm gonna explain how to get there, step by step...

At Jalan Hang Lekir, you will see the location as below... Go in there, its a food court..

Photobucket

Walk straight till you see a mini food court junction and you will see the stall...

Photobucket

The pork chop dry noodle was good. Well, the place is a stall and the noodle cost around RM5 and below.
Photobucket

The people there are friendly and the place is usually packed during lunch hours.

Christmas Decorations In Singapore

Last weekend I was in Singapore for a short trip. I never had such fun in shopping since the last time I was in Bangkok. I was told that the lighting for this year Christmas in Singapore is worst than last year. However, to me it is as good as it gets. Lighting around Orchard Road is sponsored by Hitachi....
