*HALAL
Restoran Sri Karak is famous for its durian tarts. Yet, many might not know that they serve Halal Chinese food. Good Halal Chinese food.
A few weeks ago, I went there for a casual dinner with Rachel. The restaurant is located at the opposite of the MBPJ. Same row with RHB Bank but located at the other end. Its a corner lot 2 storey restaurant, the signage is in yellow colour. Shouldn't be a problem locating it.
Since it was just the 2 of us, we ordered only a few dishes. We started with the sambal sotong. I loved it but it was slightly oily. The spicyness and the taste was good. The sambal sotong was RM 12.
Then we tried the stir fried Ostrich meat (RM 15).
Ostrich meat tastes similar to lean beef and is low in fat and cholesterol, as well as high in calcium, protein and iron. - Wikipedia
It was good, yet again slightly oily. The meat was tender and the best part is its healthy!
Next we had deep fried beancurd (RM 6). I loved this! The skin was so crispy! Beancurd was really smooth. It goes very well with sauce (soya sauce I think?) as well. Recommendable!
Since we didn't have their famous Durian tarts and Durian Bombs, we decided to order their Durian ABC (Ais Batu Campur / Mixed Crushed Ice). The significant different was the durian ice cream on top. For durian lovers, this is absolutely "durianlicious". Durian ABC is priced at RM 6.
Overall, the food was good despite being HALAL. Slightly oily on stir fried dishes. Service was excellent and the place is well air conditioned. Total bill came to RM 46.50.
Recommendable!
