Ramen @ Dragon-I , Mid Valley (Jan 09)

* NON - HALAL

A place that's no longer needs an introduction anymore? I still remember the days when they started few years ago where they used the "Guinness World Record Holder for the Ramen Making" as the theme of the restaurant. Years have passed by and they blossomed to a few outlets and Canton-I under their umbrella.

Isn't this a common scene for dinner goers? It took us a couple of min, to get our seat where we ordered our foods.

Rachel ordered something very simple, plain ramen with their clear soup. It has been months since my last visit, and the ramen was still as good as it used to be.

We also ordered "Siew Long Buns". It was lovely. Even though it needed a short wait, it was worth it.
I ordered a Pork Chop with Ramen. The meat was tender and it was good. I finished the whole thing by myself. An act of food satisfaction.

Service was okay, a bit slow when the place is packed. Well, it happens everywhere. The bill came to about RM 40 plus. And the food was good. I will go back again for ramen for sure.

Lou Yee Sang @ Restoran 9888, Cheras (Jan 09)

* NON - HALAL

This is will be my second visit to Restoran 9888. Went to this place during CNY with my dearest colleagues. The restaurant is located opposite Cheras Badminton Stadium, there's a small entrance road where you have to turn in and turn right, the restaurant at the left hand side. Due to my confusing road directions, pls do call them (bottom).

We started with Salmon Yee Sang. Since there were 12 of us, the Yee Sang came with XXL size. Yee Sang was good.

Salted Egg Prawns came next. Prawns were fried to crunchiness and cooked with salted eggs. This dish was good. The skin of the prawns was so crunchy, you could have eaten them.

Claypot Pork Knuckles came next. Since I was trying to cut down my pork intake (tried), I didn't take much of this. I would say it was a decent dish.

Fried Tau Fu's next. The tau fu was fried until the skin was crispy. With soy sauce, this dish was really a good one.

Garlic cooked with Vege. Lightly taste cooked enhanced the taste and the aroma of the vege. (Sorry for my ignorance of the name of the vege, I'm not a frequent vege taker).

Kam Hiong La-La. One of my favourite food, la-la. This was good. La la was cooked in thick sauce Kam Hiong sytle.
Lastly,the vege dish that I didn't try as literally my tummy could explode at the moment of time. I was pratically too full for any food intakes. The service was excellent, the food was good and the price was very reasonable. It's one of the newer restaurant in that Cheras 3 1/2 miles area and they were getting more and more customers lately.

Wantan Noodles @ Canton-I The Gardens (Feb 09)

* NON - HALAL

The last visit I went to Canton-I was pretty good. Since Jason wanted to try it out so bad, we went for it at The Gardens.

We quickly got ourselves a nice seat. The waitresses there were attentive. Like the One Utama outlet, the designs were similar. It took a while to figure out what to eat since we tried some of the stuffs last time around.

I ordered Char Siew and Siew Yuk wantan noodle. One thing in particular I want to highlight is the wantan noodle. Even though at first when I saw in the menu, plain noodles cost RM 4 was ridiculous, I was wrong. The noodle was fantastic. Its hard to put on words for this. The char siew well is okay. Siew Yuk was particularly good. Well of course I paid RM 13.80 for it, exclusive tax.

Rachel ordered a Cantonese Style with Spicy Shredded Meat Wanton Noodles. Well, surprisingly it was horrible! There wasn't much spicyness in the meat and it was sweet. We didn't like it. Some might loved the sweetness. It was RM 12.80, excl. tax.

Jasmine tea. The flower inside was lovely as it "grew" at time passed by. Of course, the tea was good.

Then, we ordered Stewed Rice Vermicelli (Mee Hun) with Sheredded Duck and Vege. This was good. Partially because of the shredded roast duck. I loved this dish. RM 14, excl. tax.

Jason ordered a Fried Rice for RM20, excl. tax. We were like, wasn't this Egg Fried Rice? We were so wrong. The rice was fried with egg white. Then with prawns and scallops. Yes, lots of scallops. This was good.

Lastly, we ordered a Deep Fried Durian Pancake for RM 8, excl. tax. Well, it was just durian deep fried with battered flour? Nothing really amazing for this.

We definitely loved our foods this time around except the Cantonese Style with Spicy Shredded Meat Wanton Noodles. Service was good as usual. Per pax was around RM 20 plus. Yeah, there was a 10% discount for CIMB Credit Card Members.
