5 Layers of Beef Burger @ Wendy's Pepper Stacker Media Launch, Jaya One

Thank you Wendy's for the media invite. I almost ran late for it as I was caught with a meeting earlier on.

Well then, what's this Pepper Stacker is all about?

Pepper Stacker - Only RM4.99!

Basically you customize the
burger up to 5 stacks from the original 2 stacks.

Pepper Stacker - Stack it up!

Well, since I'm "kiasu" enough, I stacked it to 5 stacks!

After the media briefing, we were given an exclusive tour to the kitchen of Wendy's. Due to some of their secret recipes, we were not allowed to take any photographs of it.

We were shown the process of cooking the Pepper Stacker burger. Each single beef patty was cooked by a "chef" and then dipped into the thick pepper sauce. They were using the square flat pan to cook it, similar to those at Ramli burger stalls. I wonder whether did they hire the "chef" off those stalls.

After the short brief tour, I could wait anymore for my Pepper Stackers with 5 beef patties! I named it as Pepper Stacker 5 stacks!

My custom made burger!

Checked out the size of this! Generously with lots of hot pepper sauce!

Its kinda sloppy as there's 5 stacks of beef patties. You have been warned!

bur-done

I know its a bit gross but you can easily the 5 layers of beef patties.

Someone asked me whether was it juicy or not? The answer was yes. The beef was tender and as each single beef patty was dipped into the pepper sauce, it was very juicy and hot. Ya, almost for the sauteed onions as well. Anyways, I loved it!

This is my first time I had a 5 layers of beef burger. I'm proud of it!

Japanese Food @ Hanazen, Jaya One

Last month, I had dinner with Jason in Jaya One.

I heard about Hanazen from word of mouth by a few friends. It would be a waste if I wouldn't try it myself.

h0

The place was lovely. It was packed after we were there. Better to book in advanced next time to avoid disappointments.

h1

Andy ordered a Soba with Chicken Katsu...

h2

Chicken katsu was crispy and the meat was tender. Soba was good as well.

h3

Yakizakana Zen was next. A combination of few raw fish and 1 grill fish. The fish was very fresh, lovely. The grilled fish was mackerel (if not mistaken), it was good.

h4

Tori Teppanyaki Zen was ordered by Rachel. Chicken was grilled ala teppanyaki style. Chicken was tasty. Good stuff!

h5

The whole table was packed with foods basically. Jason paid the bill, how lovely. I wished he could pay the upcoming food reviews though.

The food was good. Expect to pay around RM 40 and above for a decent meal. The service was good and place was really cozy. Do book in advance (my advice). A good Japanese place to visit in Jaya One area.

Biggest Hoegaarden Beer Pint I've Had @ Brussel Beer Cafe, Jaya One

* NON - HALAL

I've heard about this place when I dine in Frontera Bar few weeks ago. It's famous for its variety of German beer and the huge serving of Horgaarden, Stella Artois and Guinness Draught.

b1

Going to this place was just about having fun and lots of beer. I promised myself lots of beer.

b2

We ordered the biggest Hoegaarden beer pint / glass I've seen. It was a total of 5 pints. It cost us around RM 128 (if not mistaken). The trick was the beer will goes flat in 20 min. So within 20 min, we must finish the whole glass.

b3

Everyone was very excited but they kept their cool as I was taking pictures of it.

Well, how to drink a 5 pints beer?

b4

Use straws. I know its weird to use straw to drink beer, what other options we had?

b5

Well, we ordered some snacks. Bacon roll with sausage. This was good. Bacon + sausage + beer = magnificent!

Fat foods always taste better?

b6

We also ordered German sausages. It was good as well. Sausages and bacons cost less than RM 20 per plate.

b8

By the time we had 4 of the huge pints, we were really down. Imagine 4 x 5 pints beer!! I could barely walk after the beer feast.

The service there was good but very slow. We paid around RM 7++ for the beer feast.

It was indeed an unmemorable beer drinking night.

Mexican Food @ Frontera Bar & Grill, Jaya One

This was my first time to Jaya One. Frankly, I was quite impressed with the restaurants and cafes in the area.

Finding Frontera Bar was not hard, there were signs around the area. Located opposite of Halo Cafe and Brussels Beer Cafe, this is the second Mexican restaurant I visited in Malaysia.

f1

We ordered Chips and Salsa. This was pretty good. A great starter for the night.

frontera2

Next, we had Frontera Nachos. This was good as well. Their fresh home made tortilla chips covered with refried beans and topped with cheese and jalapeno.

Jalapeno is a medium to large size chili pepper which is prized for its warm, burning sensation when eaten - Wikipedia

This was good. Blends very well with sour cream.

f3

Next, the infamous Habanero!

Habanero is one of the most intensely spicy species of chili peppers of the Capsicum Genus. - Wikipedia

Its so spicy until the restaurant decided to take it off the menu! They told us that patrons vomitted and puke after taking it. Some even consulted the doctors! At first I didn't believe them until.....

2

Rachel turned RED! She only ate like 1/2 cm size of Habanero. For once, I chicken out. Rachel always considered herself a good chili eater and she turned red.

It was a NO NO to me....

f4

I ordered "Tex-Mex Burrito". Shredded chicken were Tortilla wrapped, served with refried beans and rice. It was very filling. The refried beans were a bit too soft to my likings. :P

f5

Frontera Chimichanga! The Chimichanga sounds like something very complicated. Actually its the same as Tex-Mex but just that they deep fried the whole thing.

Overall I loved the starters, the main course was average to me. Price per pax should go around RM 30 excluding liquor. Service was good, people there was nice.
