Superwilson Sell Toys @ Amcorp Mall Flea Market

Today marked the first time I shared a stall in Amcorp Mall's Flea Market to clear off my toys for more space at home. Well, firstly thanks KC and Chris (below) for helping me.

I met a lot of toys collectors who were shocked to see me. After missing in action for months, it was really happy to meet them.




I didn't bring much toys to sell today. Today mainly trying to learn and survey what to sell. Will bring more next time around. My next round will be at September 6th. I will bring more vintage toys to sell.

Next weekend, I will be at Kuching for a short trip. It will be my first visit to Kuching, getting very excited about it.

More traveling pictures will come soon, and also food outings with friends and fellow bloggers. Please do look out for places like Cherating and also Bali. And also thank you for lovely people who invited me for the food reviews this week, I will post the reviews in upcoming weeks.

Shopping @ Kuta Beach Morning Market (March '09)

One great thing about staying in Kuta was the lovely Kuta beach. The other thing would be the Kuta Beach's morning market. I am not sure whether the morning market runs daily or just from Friday to Sunday. I was there on Friday for sure.



The market is located at the Kuta Beach stretch. Visible from far.



Lots of things were available. From flip flops to earrings, from one piece beach dresses to T-shirts and jeans. It was just another typical Bali market but this one is on the beach.



Yeah, they had local delicacies too! Rachel didn't allow me of having those...



Stalls items can be discounted. It depends on how good is your negotiating skills. A worthwhile place to shop when you are in Kuta Beach. Why not?

*Please note that some stall owners and sellers were pretty aggressive.

World Largest Market @ Chatuchak, Bangkok, Thailand (Jan 09)

Chatuchak, the largest market in the world, is also known for its role as the weekend market. However, my last trip I couldn't make it to the weekend so many might wonder, how is Chatuchak during weekdays. I tell you how....

On my very last day in Bangkok, I decided to go to Chatuchak. It was a weekday.

Many might thought that they will be closed on weekdays, well its not all that. Some or most shops are still open on weekdays.

I went to the paintings section and there were lots of impressive painting. I wished I could drive all the way up and bought all those stuffs. Just to let you know, my parents drove to Bangkok before, in fact to Chiang Mai also.

There were lots of plants displayed on that day. I saw lots of pick up trucks carrying plants, maybe there were from outstation or other areas of Thailand?

Transportation was not an issue in Chatuchak. Taxis and even tuk-tuk were on standby if you need them!
In case, you couldn't take back the stuffs you bought. There's a few courier companies there can do the job.

Chatuchak can be accessible by BTS Sky Train (right to the front of the market! Very convenient) or taxis. Taxis are everywhere in Bangkok.

Shopping @ Central World, Bangkok (Jan 09)

My first time to Central World to be frank and I must say, its huge. Catered to medium to upper market (I guess), there were lots of things to shop in this gigantic shopping mall. From what I've heard, this place used to be a trade center, so you can imagine the size of this place.

There were cineplexes!

One thing I realized about Bangkok malls were, you were not allowed to take any pictures. I took lots of risks taking this pictures and share to everyone here. Sharing is caring okay! This place I would consider similar to Siam Paragon, much bigger and more foods. They were still renovating bits here and there at the higher level as its still very new I guess.

Central World is walking distance to BTS Sky Train, Platinum Mall, MBK and Siam Paragon. My best opinion, get the CAB! It won't be that much depending on traffic jams.

The Platinum Fashion Mall, Pratu Nam, Bangkok

This is one mall that you must go in Bangkok if you are a shopaholic. Why Platinum Mall?

The Platinum Fashion Mall is a 5 billion baht (100 million euro) shopping mall in Pratu Nam, Bangkok, Thailand, which specializes in fashion clothes and accessories retail and wholesale. It is a six-storey complex with an 11-storey condominium building above the complex.

The clothes shops operate on the principle that buying 1 piece is a retail sale and warrants retail price, but buying 3 (or sometimes more) pieces is wholesale and you get the wholesale price. An example of pricing structure is 1 men's shirt retail 250 baht, 3 shirts wholesale 500 baht.

The mall is on Phetchaburi Road, next to Pantip Plaza and opposite Pratunam Complex, a 14-storey mall. It is also near Central World Plaza. - Wikipedia

So its a 6 STOREY shopping complex. Outlets in thousands! They have also dedicated floors for women, men and even fashion. Level 7 is food court (bottom right pic). One of my favourite shop is Shiroi Neko (bottom left pic), located at 4th Floor. There's a few coffee outlet Black Canyon inside the mall, so when you got tired, you can chill there for a while.
Shoppers here used huge plastic bags and sometimes they dragged them around. If I'm not mistaken, there's 4 storeys of shop lots dedicated for ladies fashion.

Platinum Mall is easily accesible by taxi. Go in the taxi and said "Platinum Mall", if they don't understand, say Pratu Nam (ask around when you reached pratu nam, walking distance). It is also walking distance to Central World.

MBK Center, Bangkok (Jan 09)

MBK Center, also known as Mahboonkrong or Mabunkrong (Thai: มาบุญครอง), is an enormous marble shopping mall in Bangkok, Thailand. At eight stories high and 330 metres long, with 2,500 shops using a total selling area of 89,000 square metres, this shopping mall used to be one of the biggest malls in Asia when it was first founded in 1985. It is particularly well known for its many vendors of mobile phones and other electronics, as well as furniture stores.-Wikipedia

MBK Center is very popular among tourists especially Malaysians and Singaporeans. Basically, you can get almost anything in MBK. From, electronics to furniture and they have a huge cineplex as well. I watched a movie there few years back.

In certain parts of MBK, its like a market. It has dedicated floors to things like electronics, clothings and so on. Some might like it and some might not. It has also Tokyu departmental store as well.

MBK is easily accesible with BTS Sky Train or taxis. Catered for medium to low income shopping center with a few lovely food courts. An option to go for all-in shopping center.

Christmas Decorations In Singapore

Last weekend I was in Singapore for a short trip. I never had such fun in shopping since the last time I was in Bangkok. I was told that the lighting for this year Christmas in Singapore is worst than last year. However, to me it is as good as it gets. Lighting around Orchard Road is sponsored by Hitachi....

I enjoyed my weekend at Singapore. I promised myself not to shop but it didn't work. During at bad times like this, Singaporeans still shop like no tomorrow. Uniquely Singapore...

Weekend Flea Market @ China Square Central

Toys hunting is normally hard. However, in Singapore, its easy like 1-2-3...
There's this notorious place called China Square Central in the proximity of China Town Singapore are famous for its weekend flea market.



Of course, in KL, we have Amcorp Mall's weekend flea market for antique and collection stuffs.
China Square Central is more famous for its toys flea market.



Being a toy collector myself, I had been to China Square Central for a few times. With toys outlets which are permanently there, shopping there could take hours if you would go stall by stall searching for the missing toy in your collections.

Street Wear @ Hobbs Boutique, Berjaya Times Square

Fancy cool street wear plus custom hand drawn super cool design caps and bags?

You should check out this place... Hobbs Boutique in Berjaya Times Square...

The owner, Fei is my high school friend and he opened this boutique much for his passions and his inspirations.

Hobbs has been around in Times Square for a few years. To me, the shop sells something more than just casual street wear clothes.

Some shirts will strike your attention just once...

The striking orange color is his "signature" color...

Though the shop is compact but it has lots of variety and choice of street wear clothing..
