Steamboat Buffet @ Tasty Pot BBQ Steamboat Buffet Restaurant, Sunway Mentari

*Pork-Free Food*

Thank you Wenny of Tasty Pot and Tim from 3-meals.com for inviting me for the Tasty Pot BBQ Steamboat Restaurant food review session.

I've personally came here with Rachel for a birthday celebration dated a few weeks back.

The place itself was gigantic. Its the first time in my life to see a steamboat restaurant with 4 dedicated levels / floors for steamboat buffet. I kid you not. 4 floors of steamboat!!

t1

The massive building of steamboat!! Whoaaa....

If you wondering where's the place is, its located at Sunway Mentari and I attached a map below. Lots of parking spaces.

Well, let me show some of the buffet foods available...

buffet2

Check out the variety of foods! I would call this personally, the "balls" counter. From fish to chicken balls, many variety of balls except pork balls. Tasty Pot is a Pork Free restaurant.

buffet3

Can you see seafood?

buffet4

All fresh fresh...

Green green vege vege...

Very fresh seafood.... big prawns, "sotong", crabs and many more...

Rachel took this, definitely not me...

Tasty Pot offered a unique combination of soups. Soya Bean soup, Curry Soya Bean soup, HK Satin Porridge / Congee soup, Chong Qing (Ma Lat) Spicy soup, Thai Tom Yam soup and Chinese Herbal soup. Top left was the Soya Bean soup and top right was the Chinese Herbal soup.

steamboat

Left was the Thai Tom Yam soup while the right was the Chong Qing (Ma Lat) Spicy soup. Chong Qing (Ma Lat) Spicy soup is for the hardcore spicy soup lovers.

Every soup has their own distinct flavour, I always prefer the Chinese Herbal soup. Rachel loved the spicy soup. The Soya Bean soup tasted slightly "too new" for my taste bud but some might loved it as well.

For your information, they have grill section that offered grill seafood and grill lamb as well.

It was a wonderful eating experience and it was great to meet new friends like Renee and Wai Ching.

Price per pax is RM 23.80. To me the pricing is not too bad.

Ala Carte Japanese Buffet @ Irodori Japanese Restaurant, Singapore

Sometimes good food is just around the corner. I kid you not.

My stay in Riverview Hotel Singapore was a pleasant experience. Yet, within the hotel, there's a very good Japanese restaurant. Its called Irodori Japanese Restaurant. Since my clients recommended me the place, we decided to have my dinner there.

There's a lot of Japanese buffet restaurant but ala carte japanese buffet was the first time for me. Ala carte japanese buffet means they only cook when you order. The food will taste better definitely. When we reached the restaurant, we were greeted by the friendly waitresses there. We waited no more and started to order our dinner.

iro1

Fresh sashimi was pretty good. The fish were very fresh indeed. We ordered quite a few plates for the night.

iro2

Ebi Tempura or Tempura Prawn. Lovely.

iro3

The complimentary Grilled Prawns. This was pretty good. Too bad its complimentary, if not we would order more.

iro4

Most Japanese restaurants in Malaysia are halal. Having pork shogayaki was something a little bit different to me. This was decent.

iro5

Trust me, this was not my order.

The buffet only cost $33++ per person for dinner. It's really worth it. I'm talking about the quality of the foodi and the variety of foods we can ordered. There's more than 100 types of dishes to order. The service was good as well. What else to ask for?

Recommendable!

Japanese Buffet @ Saisaki, Wisma UOA II (Feb 09)

It has been years since the last time I went to Saisaki. They were one of the few most popular Japanese restaurants in town during the early 2000. I've been there a few times back then, it was one of the best at that time.

After years passed, many Japanese buffet concept restaurants had open. Some in shopping malls and some even in hotels. For that, there are more choices now and prices are more competitive as well.

s1

We went there in February with my family and a few friends.

s2

They had a make over. Place looked classier and foods now looked more organized. Upon getting our table, I waited no more and start grabbing for foods.

s3

The sushi bar. The selection of foods were quite generous. There's sushi bar, tempura section as well as Chinese foods served. I'm was a bit humbled by the variety of foods here.

s4

The dinner was enjoyable. Food in general was pretty alright. Some were good, some were average. Its really hard to judge a buffet. Most important thing of all, it was enjoyable.

The service was good, place was comfortable and air cond was cold.

The quality of the food is still there after so many years. Yet again, personal food tasting and preferences might varies depending on individuals.

The price for it? Weekdays dinner buffet RM 58++ while weekend is RM 60++. Pretty reasonable to me.

Eccucino @ Prince Hotel

Let me introduce something that will do a little change for your Wednesday evening schedule.

A lovely "grill to perfection" buffet. FREE FLOW of house wine and draught beer. International appetizers, crisps salads, sushi and dessert bar and many more...

For all the amazing selections as above, the place would be Eccucino @ Prince Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

Last Wednesday, I was invited to Prince Hotel with a few selected food bloggers to try out their wide selection buffet.

It was a night to remember. Let me show you some of the pictures taken.

p1

The salmon roll here is one of the many selections available.

p2

The sushi rolls in the foreground and the salads at the background. Trust me, taking pictures of foods was not an enjoyable thing to do. Imagine you can see but you cannot eat . . . yet...

p3

The prawns, look at the colour of it....

p4

The fresh oysters.... the sushi bar at the background...

p5

Executive Chef Donald Pezar was happily preparing a special dish for us...

p7

The grill. Heaps of variety of meats and seafood for grill. Pick the food, they will grill it to perfection for you... Lovely stuffs...

p8

Tiger prawns and meat grill...

p9

The chocolate fondue awaits me....

p10

The dessert bar. If you notice, the desserts were in small pieces. Its actually good so that you can try more variety of it.

It's a nice place to have dinner as its located at the Grand Lobby of the 5 stars hotel. The ambient and the service was 5-stars. The sashimi was fantasticly fresh. The grill was excellent. The dessert was lustfully sinful. The mushroom soup was good also. I wish I have a spare tummy to try out the other foods.

And also the FREE FLOW house wines, draught beer and soft drinks.

For the all of the above, its only 88++ per adult.

A RECOMMENDABLE place to go for Wednesday. An ideal place for chilling out as well as dining-in in comfort.

BBQ @ Yaki Yaki Japanese BBQ Buffet Restaurant

I heard about this place from a friend who was telling me about their 50% opening promo ending end of April.

Located at Federal Bowl behind Federal Hotel and beside Low Yat Plaza, locating this place could be never been easier.
y1

We reached earlier to book and it was already packed. We booked our table and got ours around an hour later.

y2The lovely people there gave us a "tatami" room. It was fantastic because we knew we were the type that made a lot of noises. Having our own room was a brilliant idea.

y3

One thing about buffet, I couldn't really say how much foods were there. Another reason also that I wouldn't want to compare it with other buffet restaurants. They had a sushi bar, mixed meat area for BBQ, fried food area and a few more. Not the most food for a buffet restaurant but adequate.

y4

The best part was ordering the foods for BBQ. Remember to order Unagi here and other BBQ thin sliced meats. Wonder why?

y5
The fun part about this place is BBQ. Imagine bunch of friends BBQ together at a Japanese Buffet Restaurant, priceless!

y6
The Sashimi there recommendable, it was pretty fresh. We took the whole plate.

Me and Rachel... :P

y8The room after we left. Check out the table, it was packed! Check out the coconuts...

y9The gang!

The ongoing promo (until end of April 2009) is damn worth it. Inclusive tax, its less than RM 50 per pax.

The service was good and I loved the BBQ buffet concept. The food there was generally good. I enjoyed their coconuts as well as the fresh thin sliced meat.

Recommendable to go for the promo.
