Jogoya (Japanese Buffet) @ StarHill

I've long heard about this Japanese Buffet place, Jogoya. A few of my friends didn't manage to try Jogoya as well so we made a pact to go there together a few weeks back. We went there for only one mission... Mission to eat until lausai full. Below are the pictures of the food that we ate...

Like many kiasu buffet eaters, we go for the sashimi.... In this we go for salmon... Fresh..

Then we go for seafoods...

Mission accomplished!!

After the seafood, we go another round of "Seafood boiled in paper bowl"!!

After sashimi and boiled seafood, we go for GRILL!! Few varieties of Mussels and Oysters!!

Then we go back with fish again!!!

Sailormoon Jacqui goes for grill fish!!

Fresh Oysters!!

More Seafoo
Sailormoon Jacqui then goes for dessert... she's showing various types of Mochis....

Unidentified desserts...

More desserts!!!

Lagi More Desserts!!

Then we go back to foods again!!

Then we go for unlimited Haagen Daas Ice Cream!!!

After so many rounds of seafoods, n then desserts n then seafoods again, mission accomplished! Confirmed lausai full!!

Other than seafoods and lovely desserts, they offer various Malaysian foods such as noodles, kuey teow and also dim sum. There are also sushis and other type of foods. To be frank, this is one of the biggest buffet restaurant I had in KL. There are also white wine and other cocktails available. Fresh coconuts also available and they are lovely...

After tax, a person pay around RM 10x,... I'm not a big fan of buffet as I'm a small eater... Don't judge me with my size... I felt that its still worth it even though it hits RM 100... They do have fresh sashimis which I think its very nice as well as wines and cocktails. Not to mention the Haagen Daas ice creams... 1 scoop outside cost u about RM 10, so you do the maths... I will come back again for sure...

Chuan Kee Hakka Restaurant, Jalan Pudu Ulu, Cheras

In case u dun find it..
Its called Chuan Kee, Chan Kee is more to like Chinese name. Chuan Kee has been around in Cheras for some time. Some said for more than 20 years. Like many other good foods in Cheras, Chuan Kee has its own specialties.

The garlic steam fish is one of the popular dish here. You can see many people ordering this dish when you are there.

The "big heavenly four kings"....

Claypot Lamb Stew....

One more thing they are famous for are their handmade Yong Tau Fu!!

"Za Yok" (Pork) is good as well...

Steam Chicken....

This place is normally packed during lunch hours. Its one of the few good restaurants in Jln Pudu Ulu itself. I would say there are 3 nice restaurants in this road and Chuan Kee is one of them. The price here of course very reasonable and the food is good. Good place to try some nice foods...

Senjyu Sushi

It happened I think weeks back when I was looking around for sushi in Sunway Pyramid. I am always a big sushi fan. Well, looking that there's a new sushi shop, I gave it a try.

I love Unagi (Eel)... and they served huge unagi sushi...

Like many sushi lovers, we tried Unagi many times before but had u tried "Anago" before? Anago is sea eel, a different type of species of eel.. Its white in color and taste similar to Unagi... Worth to try!

Anago (穴子, or アナゴ?) is the Japanese word for salt-water eels, which are a seafood dish in Japan. Anago are often simmered (sushi) or deep-fried (tempura), compared to unagikabayaki). Anago is also slightly less rich and oily than unagi. - Wikipedia (freshwater eels) which are usually barbecued with a sauce (

Another special sushi they have is Aburi Wagyu Beef sushi. Its basically Austalian version of "Kobe Beef". Since I don't really fancy beef, this one... oklah...

Wagyu (和牛 wagyū?) refers to several breeds of cattle genetically predisposed to intense marbling and to producing a high percentage of oleaginous unsaturated fat. The meat from wagyu cattle is known worldwide for its marbling characteristics, increased eating quality through a naturally enhanced flavor, tenderness and juiciness, and thus a high market value. Several areas in Japan are famous for the quality of their Wagyu cattle, and ship beef bearing their areas' names. Some examples are Kobe, Mishima and Ohmi beef.

Of course they served different other sushis as well... Since I'm paying the bill, I'm not going to say much. It caters for medium upper market. We (2 person) ate about RM 1xx. Prepare to pay at least RM 50 and above per person. Quite a few items are "air-flown" in. The price justifies the food. Will come back again...
