For the third night in Setiawan, our client decided to bring us to a Thai restaurant at Damai Laut Golf and Country Club. It is located beside Swiss Garden, Lumut.
To go there from Setiawan, it took us at least half an hour drive. We drove slowly there and we enjoyed the lovely plantations view during the journey.
When we reached the restaurant, we were greeted by Thai waitresses and the other lovely friendly staffs. Parking was not an issue there. The restaurant is inside the club house itself. The place is well maintained, very clean with a very nice view of the golf course. It is well air conditioned.
They had an on going promotion for the dinner. We ordered a set dinner for RM 250.00 nett.
The first dish was the deep fried prawn cake. The crispy prawn cake goes very well with the sweet sauce. A great starter for the night.
The seafood Tom Yam soup was next. The soup was not too spicy and not too sour. It was just nice.
Next, the grilled chicken salad. Well, its more like a stir fried chicken with salad. The taste was decent. Nothing special.
Sweet and sour chicken was next. I loved how the chicken blended well with sweet and sour sauce. Chicken was deep fried and then stir fried with the sweet and sour sauce. This was pretty good.
Fried beef with fresh chili. The sauce once again was nice. Thick and savoury. The beef was tender even though its fully cooked. Decent.
Looks like its not going to stop. Red curry prawn was next. The reddish coloured curry itself was thick and had a good aroma of coconut milk.
The fried mixed vegetables was overcooked! The blunder of the night.
Lastly, we had the lovely water chestnut. Thick, creamy and sweet. This was good. Addictively sinful!
Overall, the food was generally okay. The set meal was RM 250 nett for 10 person. The location is a bit far off the town, driving there at night would be a bit hard. It was quite dark out there.
