Sentul Ah Yap Charcoal Hokkien Mee @ Kota Damansara

*NON-HALAL

There's quite a distinct difference between gas cooked hokkien mee and charcoal cooked hokkien mee. Correct me if I'm wrong, charcoal cooked hokkien mee tends to taste nicer. There's 2 places in Cheras uses charcoal for their hokkien mee. But sad to say, I didn't review it yet on this blog. I still have backlog of at least 20-30 reviews so far.

I had been in Kota Damansara often lately. Mainly because of an ongoing project. So then one day when I was looking for lunch, I spotted this place. Sentul Ah Yap Charcoal Hokkien Mee. The restaurant is just a few steps away from Standard Chartered Bank. It's easy to find but hard to get parking.

We started with the meat roll and fish cake. Meat roll was good and the fish cake was fantastic. Crispy on the outside, fresh and tender on the inside.

I'm always a big fan of yee mee. However, the yee mee was surprisingly salty. Yet again, personal flavour and preferences are very subjective. Still, I find it salty.

Their infamous Hokkein Mee. Guess what? Salty again. Its mildly salty to be precise.

The food was generally average and slightly salty. Nothing amazing really. I guess this is the first time, there's so many times the word salty appeared here. Price was reasonable and service was okay. We were a bit disappointed.
