Dynasty Restaurant @ Renaissance Hotel KL

I've been here a few times for dinner... It didn't disappoint me so far...

In a 5 stars hotel, the interior is no lesser than 5 stars...

A very Chinese style based design...

The seafood pot....

"Tong Por" Pork pot with buns..

The lovely fried crispy buns, soft inside...

The vege....

I love this cod fish....

Salted Duck Egg Prawn Rolls, my sis fav....

Like usual, our fav, Roasted Suckling Pig...

Homemade Tau Foo Far dessert...

Its always a lovely restaurant, as we normally chat with the captain here. The service here is always outstanding. Located at the New World Wing of the Hotel, it offers great Chinese Foods on the pricy side. Prepare to pay at least RM 50 per head for a good luxurious meal, depending on what you ordered. Its a quiet place to have dinner and the service is outstanding.

Bora Ombak Cafe & Restaurant @ Ampang

Fancy Indonesian food? Few months back, my family decided to try some Indonesian food at this restaurant called Bora Ombak in Ampang. Located somewhere behind Ampang Point, you need to call them for the location.... The setting of the place is magnificent...

The entrance...

Lovely small huts...

A very much Indo "jungle feel"..

We decided to try most of the menu... Fried squid...

The Pandan wrapped Chicken... ala Bora Ombak style...

More food...

One of their signature fried fish dish....

Another fish dish....

Chicken wings...

The presentation of the food as you can see here is amazing as well as the ambience of the place. However, the service is really slow. There were only 2-3 tables full and they were working really slow. The food is itself is okay.... but small in portion... Well, the price is a bit high... Expect to pay around RM 20-30 per pax if you want the luxurious foods like I ordered. If you are looking for a romantic dinner ala Indo style, this might be a good place.

Yap Chong Restaurant, Jalan Pudu Ulu, Cheras

As I mentioned earlier that there are 3 nice lovely restaurants at Jalan Pudu Ulu itself. I introduced Chuan Kee and now this is Yap Chong. I went to this place quite often as I worked nearby. Located almost at the end of the road of old shop lots... this place has 3 shoplots but its small. If you don't mind the apperance but going for the just the food, this is the one you can consider...

The fried dry butter "sotong" (squid) is crispy and nice... Even though its more like an appertizer but the crunchiness of this dish, is something you can't resist...

The garlic steam fish here is also good.... Eating steam fish is the best way to know whether the fish is fresh or not...

The vege dish is nice also...

There's one famous dish is the Amy Yip homemade taufu (beancurd). If you come late, its always sold out! With fried garlic and soya sauce, this is a must try!

Lastly, we had "kau yok" pork with yam. This dish is never easy to make. It involves quite a long cooking process and getting it along with yam is a tough one. This dish deserves a try as well...

This place is normally packed during lunch time and dinner. Dinner sometimes can be so packed until u need to wait for quite a bit. The price for this restaurant is very reasonable but service is very "chinaman" service. Food is always good here like Chuan Kee...

Chipotle Mexican Grill @ New York (2007)

First thing first, this was on APRIL 2007... I was there for a working trip to New York... Basically we were looking a nice lunch place... And while we were walking around... We saw...

Chipotle Mexican Grill.... We were like "Mexican?? Why not!?"

Lunch hour was packed! We were queuing up and taking out turns for the beloved Burito!!
One thing about Burito is u need it custom made!!

Look at the varieties of stuffs u can put into the Burito!!

The ladies were nice and they were teasing me... coz I didn't know what I want for my Burito...

They worked fast and they were very friendly!!

So I did manage to "pimp" my Burito!!

Check out the size of my Burito!!! Its like "Godzilla" Burito size... Sad to say I couldn't finish it again... It was just so damn "Godzilllaa!!"

Price is around 10 dollars, self service and food is excellent. If you really want to "pimp" your own Burito, this place is no regrets!

For more info, please visit their site here. They are franchise Mexican food chain now.

USA Brooklyn Diner, The Finer Diner @ New York (2007)

First thing first, this was on APRIL 2007... I was there for a working trip to New York... We reached there night time and were looking for food... good food... just one of the corners of Times Square.. we found a restaurant...

Its called USA Brooklyn Diner, The Finer Diner....

It was quite packed even though it was around 9 pm... We waited for a while and got our seats...

The service was top notched... Making sure we were doing good... We tried some prawns... It was a bit salty.. but its okay...

Salmon was good but a bit too salty to our likings... Maybe because we just had a long flight?? or New Yorkers are salty lovers?

Chicken Kiev was a funny one, it was so juicy at the moment that it was cut opened, the butter juice squirted out! We were like ..."Whoooaaa!!!"

My beef burger was huge! Its damn bloody huge!!

It came with lots of fried onions and chips as well. Like usual, I couldn't finish the food... Too huge for Asians maybe...

"The best burger in New York" - New York Magazine stated... as well as the New York Post...

The price is below US 20 per person, huge portion of food and great location in the city. Actually some might able to share a meal if you are a small eater... Remember to pay tips though...
You can go to their website here.

Foods are okay, service is excellent, price is reasonable!

Chilli Crabs @ Boon Tat Restaurant, Klang

It will be quite sinful for me if I did not introduce this place for chilli crabs... Klang has been famous for seafoods with places like Pulau Ketam, Port Klang and Teluk Gong... However, there's one restaurant offers its own way of seafood in Pandamaran Klang.... Chilli style...

Its in a bungalow, looks like this. It was at the opposite side and shifted over here in this few years...

We had chilli prawns... ala Boon Tat style... spicy and lovely...

Their famous Chilli Crabs.... Their chilli style is dry and hot... I'm never a chilli person, but I do love the crabs... I do mean the real crabs...

Of course, their pompret fish with mee hoon (rice vermicelli) and soup. The fish is steamed to perfection and every single bite of fish with the bee hoon.... Its good!

Place is air conditioned... very Chinese Mandarin and Hokkien speaking place...
Price is moderate... I can't really put a figure here as it depends what you ordered and eat. Expect to pay at least RM 30-50 and above per person for big seafood session... as I say it depends what you ordered.

No. 6, Jalan Soon Huat Jetty,

Pun Chun @ Bidor, Perak

I was on my way to Kedah for a video shoot last month. We had to go through Perak by the highway. We had to make a stop for food and trust me, my video cameraman knows where to get good food. We stopped at Bidor, Perak

We went to this restaurant by the name of Pun Chun. This was not my first time, I went there before so I know what I'm expecting... Herbal Duck Drumstick Noodle!

Few that knows me well enough knows that I love dry noodle. Even though here is famous for the Herbal Duck Soup... well, I insisted to go dry...

So the dry noodle will comes with the herbal duck soup... with drumstick of course...

This is the original famous Duck Herbal Soup!!

Other than ducks, they do sell biscuits... home made biscuits...

One of their top sellers are the "yam biscuit with char siew(pork) inside" [Wu Kok in chinese]....

Despite in Bidor, the price of the noodle and the biscuits are reasonably same as KL's price. But must also bear in mind, they are serving a duck drumstick.. so it can go low either...
I must say that Pun Chun is the only restaurant I tried in Bidor.... A place to eat in Bidor...

38-40, Jalan Besar,

Its at the main road, u can't missed it!
